JLPT N4 Grammar lesson 12. Hi everyone! In this article, LearnJapanesedaily will introduce to you the JLPT N4 Grammar. Each lesson will consist of about 5 structures for you to learn step by step and have more time to practice.

Grammar structure number 56 :

~んです

Formation :

Vる/Vた+んです
Aい+んです
Aな+んです
N+な+んです

Explanation :

that’s because, because …
often used in spoken form, a formal form of んです , which is のです

Example and meaning :

1.しばらく連絡(れんらく)しないのはいそがしいんです。
Been a long time not communicating because I was too busy.
2.そんなことしてもいいのは夫(おっと)なんです。
Working like that is okay because he’s my husband.

Grammar structure number 57 :

~間(あいだ)に~

Formation :

Vている+あいだに
N+あいだに

Explanation :

while, meanwhile.
The latter action is happening at the same time as the former action.

Example and meaning :

1.赤(あか)ちゃんが寝(ね)ている間(あいだ)に掃除(そうじ)をした。

I cleaned while my baby was asleep.

2.若(わか)いころの間(あいだ)に多(おお)くのところへ行(い)きたい

I’d like to do a slot of stuff while I’m still young.

Grammar structure number 58 :

~予定

Formation :

Vる+予定
Nの予定

Explanation :

has/have a plan

Example and meaning :

1.来年(らいねん)留学(りゅうがく)する予定(よてい)がある。
I’m planning to study abroad next year.
2.市役所(しやくしょ)からその建物(たてもの)を立(た)てる計画(けいかく)の予定(よてい)があった。
There’s a constructing plan for that building from the city council.

Grammar structure number 59 :

Vさせられる passive

Formation :

V group I: line い →line あ add せられる
V group II: remove る add させられる
V group III:
する→させられる
来る→こさせられる

Explanation :

To be forced to do something.

Example and meaning :

1. 私わたしはご飯はんを食たべさせられた。
I was forced to eat.
2.掃除そうじをさせられちる。
I was forced to do house chores.

Grammar structure number 60 :

Vさせる commanding form

Formation :

V group I: Vないない+せる
V group II: Vます( remove ます)+させる
V group III: する→させる
来る→こらせる

Explanation :

to allow somebody to do something

Example and meaning :

1.母(はは)は私(わたし)を学校(がっこう)に行(い)かせた。
I was forced to go to school by my mother.
2.店長(てんちょう)は店員(てんいん)に休(やす)ませてあげた。
The school’s stores allow its employee to take the day off.
